Now before you jump down my throat and shout at me for wishing death on someone, I am not. In fact, right now I am praising Zuma. Yes I said I am praising him!
I heard on the radio this morning that Zuma is opening discussions for the death penalty. Now it is important to note that he did not state that he was for or against it, he just stated that why not have a debate about something that has been decided on in the past and most importantly why not in a country that follows ’strict’ democratic principles.
I have always thought that Zuma would always be a good president even though I might see him as a buffoon.
The topic of the death penalty should bring up very interesting and heated debates - I have always love the topic.
What do you think of it, do you think it is a viable fix for crime or do you think that it could potentially ruin lives of innocent people with our current Judicial system in shambles?

As from next Tuesday, I will be running, very fast!
Every few months we get a fuel price change, sometime down but mostly up. It was announced today that fuel will be going up at least 62c next Tuesday at Midnight. So if you can walk fast/ride, I suggest you start getting back into it because this will tighten up peoples budgets which currently are already like a corset on a 16 century woman.
For the retail market I assume spending will be down because both costs will go up and less money will be spent.
Time to get out those thinking cap, I have always thought mielies could run a car??

I got a very nice invite to go stay at the Vacation Club in Sun City last week and to put it simply it was amazing. Just from 3 days I have a lifetime of memories with my girlfriend and I.

We did quite a lot including some parasailing and some jet skiing. It was great fun and also presented an opportunity to roam around the palace and get some really neat shots. It was a great break for me which was well needed.
My girlfriends mother joked around about how the government should stay there for a bit to see how things should be run. The place is very clean, has numerous buses going in circles which means a maximum 10 minute wait and then of course it is very safe.
I must also comment on how beautiful some of the hotels are, Laura and I had dinner at Santorini which is at the Cascades hotel and boy is it beautiful. We were surrounded by blue pool water while being served immaculate food which made a beautiful night out!

One of my clients is infected with HIV AIDS, my first thought of it was, can I be infected?
This is probably the first thought that comes into everyones mind who is not educated about the disease. The chances of you getting infected by HIV AIDS by just being in the same room as some is…there is no chance. The most important thing is that you know your status, and you make sure everyone around you know.
This is where 5fm and Levi’s are coming to the party when they have launched a campaign called Red For Life. It gives you a chance to go get your self tested at one of the Outreach Mobile Centres which have been visiting malls around the country already from the 1st of October. So if you have not been to one of these and put your contribution towards the fight against HIV AIDS then click here, they will be around until 30 November 2007.
If that is not a good enough reason for you to get tested, then you can win tickets to the Rage for the Revolution concert with bands like The Parlotones, Kabelo, The Dirty Skirts, 340ml, Lira and Loyiso then get down and get tested!
Make a difference, one person may not make a huge difference but a whole nation can move the world.

Those of you who have a telephone line, ADSL line or anything that the South African Telecommunications giant has to offer know who Telkom are. They are the “Fixed line operator” that were given a monopoly by the South African government and allowed them to have total dominance in the fixed line market until about 2000/2001.
It has taken 6 years for any competition to Telkom to start brewing and now it is coming in barrels. Neotel, who have been in the country for almost 2 years now, have suggested that they will soon launch there services to residential clients in a few months, but they will not be running a fixed line service, well on the most part. Check out an article I wrote a few months back.
Well now MTN is looking at buying out Telkom. Which would make it a huge telecommunications company by anyones standards. I think the deal should go ahead, we need a fresh name in the industry and I think many consumers will agree.

Those concerned that power in the industry will be concentrated in too few hands should look to the US, a highly competitive telecom market, which has only two big telephone companies, both of which provide the full ambit of telecom services to a market dozens of times larger than SA’s.
I will try update you as soon as I get any information. Competition is good, and even though this would theoretically remove some of the competition it will give the likes of Vodacom and Neotel a wake up call.
