I’m really looking forward to Mandela Day this year. I’m hoping that millions of people get involved and literally change this nation.
Mandela Day is a call to action for individuals – for people everywhere – to take responsibility for changing the world into a better place, one small step at a time, just as Mr Mandela did for more than 67 years. Start by devoting 67 minutes to community service on Mandela Day, on July 18 each year.
If you do not know what you’re going to to be doing yet have a look at the Rivers Foundation who are partaking in many project in different areas. They will then also be sharing all the footage received from everyone and create some media to show the impact everyone made. We really do want to change the world this Mandela Day.
This month, as the Rivers Foundation celebrates Mandela Day, we encourage YOU to join us and find ways to put a smile on as many faces in our community as possible. Any small act of kindness can make a difference in someone’s world like sharing a sandwich with a person on the street corner.
Take your phone/camera along so when the smile appears you’re ready to catch it. Then visit facebook.com/RiversFoundation and share the memory.
Here’s also an inspiration video made by Duncan Steenkamp, it’s pretty wonderful seeing what people have done and are still going to do.
